What does the company’s 50th anniversary mean to you personally?“Very much. Although it is a family business, I feel part of the ALFA family. I integrate myself very much in this company and I knew the founder of the company very well. Unfortunately, he passed away 2 years ago, but his successors, his children, have just taken the company very very far forward and expanded. What is your best memory during your time at ALFA?“My first company excursion, I had been with the company for less than half a year. I just had my birthday on Sunday and everyone almost came running to congratulate me. There’s a great sense of team spirit, so even if you’re not feeling so well, you’d still get up in the morning – because you like what you do. The people are nice and friendly.” Marisa (Export) |

Can you still remember how you started?“I can still remember my first day at work very well. Everything was completely new for me, but I was very well welcomed. The difference between the beginning and now is quite big. In the past, we mixed the raw materials we needed to mix the glues by hand. It was a bit exhausting, but it kept you fit – and today we have modern machines that do that.” Sherif (Production) |

What has changed in the years you’ve been working for ALFA?“A lot has changed – I was the 30th employee, we have more than doubled the number of employees since then, the infrastructure had to be adapted again and again, there were very big challenges and every day was an exciting day all over again. We came from Buchberg, as a very small company and today we are big. We grow year by year. You can see that in the offices, the expansion of the warehouses, the employees, the infrastructure. You put your heart and soul into it!”

DEBONDING ADHESIVES
Our top priority is the creation of adhesive solutions that enable the recycling of mattresses. Mattresses are typically made of different foam layers. Thanks to our recycling-ready adhesives, these materials can now be debonded and separated at the end of the mattress’ product life cycle.
